Are you taking advantage of all your Medicare benefits?

There's an old adage that says, 'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.' Medicare makes it easy for you to take preventive action with you health care by covering the cost of many services including:

● Bone mass measurement

● Flu shot, pneumonia shot, and the hepatitis B shot

● Diabetes screening

● HIV screening for people at increased risk or who ask for the test

● Mammograms

● Medical nutrition therapy to help people manage diabetes or kidney disease

● Prostate cancer screening (except digital rectal examinations)

● Cervical cancer screening, including Pap smear tests and pelvic exams

● Colorectal cancer screening (except for barium enemas)

There's no Medicare Part B deductible and no co-payment if certain coverage criteria are met and you get them from a doctor or other health care provider who accepts Medicare assignments. For a complete list of preventive services, visit http://www.medicare.gov

If you are turning 65 soon, please plan to attend one of my "Getting Started with Medicare" workshops at your local library or community center. For a complete list of dates and times, visit   http://www.mutkoinsurance.com
